Pierre Hardy was born and raised in Paris. He studies dance while completing a degree in fine arts from the Ecole Normale Supérieure and joins his first professionnal dance company upon graduation.

| 1987 — 1990 | Designs the women shoe collections for CHRISTIAN DIOR. |
| 1990 | Pierre Hardy becomes Creative Director for the Women’s and Men’s shoe collections at HERMES. |
| 1999 | Pierre Hardy launches his namesake brand with the Spring — Summer Women’s shoe collection. |
| 2001 | Pierre Hardy begins his collaboration with Nicolas Ghesquière at BALENCIAGA developing both Women’s and
Men’s shoe Collections. |
| Pierre Hardy is named Creative Director for HERMES Fine Jewellery division. | |
| 2002 | The PIERRE HARDY Men’s shoe collection is launched. |
| 2006 | PIERRE HARDY launches his Bags’ collection with the winter season. |
| 2007 | GAP taps Pierre Hardy to design the first capsule shoe collection for GAP DESIGN EDITION. |
| 2010 | Pierre Hardy, as the HERMES Creative Director of fine Jewellery division, introduces the « Haute Bijouterie »
Collection. |
| 2011 | Pierre Hardy designs a carbon fibre high heel concept-shoe in association with a PEUGEOT concept-car. |
| 2012 | Pierre Hardy is made "Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres", honour awarded by France to artists. |
| 2012 | Pierre Hardy revises EDITIONS DE PARFUMS FRÉDÉRIC MALLE travel sprays. |
| 2013 | Pierre Hardy receives WALLPAPER’s Judges Award of the "Best New Grooming Product" for the travel sprays
revised for Frédéric Malle. |
